Imagine if there is not the present…

I have read books, articles, and watched videos about the IT industry and leadership. Today, watching a video* recommended by a friend, where Dr. Ichak Adizes presented his vision about leadership and self-knowledge, and proposed the following situation:

“Imagine that there is not the present. There is either the past or the future because the instant called present is too short. Then I ask you, who are you? Since there is not present, you must rebuild the question in 2 ways: Who were you? and Who will you be?

Reflecting about it, it seems to me that most of us would answer the question looking backward, like I did. It is easier looking the past, remembering all personal and professional experiences, people who influenced us, place we visited and lived, etc.

And now, what about the future? Who will you be?

This question intrigues me a lot because we can answer the “whats” (characteristics), but without knowing “how” to get there… and, more intriguing, we rarely ask ourselves: “why” do we want to be who we will be? What is your purpose?

Interesting, isn’t it? How would you answer it?

Leadership, what is the best profile/model?

According to The New York TImes, Google’s most effective leaders “were even-keeled bosses who made time for one-on-one meetings, helped people puzzle through problems by asking questions, not dictating answers, and who took an interest in employees’ lives and careers”.

The article below bring a short analyze about leadership model…
